DUPONT STATE FORESTFishing
Located between Hendersonville and Brevard, Dupont State Forest is comprised of 10,400 acres of forest, trails and waterfalls. Ranging in elevation from 2300’ to 3600’, the majority of all ridges have granite slabs and domes that are exposed. Dupont Forest contains four major waterfalls and several smaller waterfalls with approximately eighty miles of dirt roads for hiking, equestrian activities and biking. The Pisgah National Forest is comprised of over half a million acres surrounding Mt. Pisgah and is divided into four ranger districts. The Pisgah Ranger District consists of 157,000 acres and located between Rosman, Brevard, Waynesville and Asheville, NC. Some of the top destinations within Pisgah include the Cradle of Forestry, Sliding Rock, Mt. Pisgah, Looking Glass Falls and the Pisgah Fish Hatchery, just to name a few. Localized near Rosman, the French Broad River consists of 210 miles of winding stream and rapids through Western North Carolina. The third oldest river in the world, after the Nile and New Rivers, the French Broad offers visitors many recreational activities year round. The Davidson River, located 4 miles from downtown Brevard, has been rated one of the top 100 wild trout streams in the United States.
